Explore the coast on foot

Much of the Orihuela Costa coastline is connected by seaside promenades, cliffside paths and short walking sections. It is one of the easiest ways to explore the area: you can walk between many beaches, enjoy sea views, stop at cafés and, on several stretches, also cycle carefully where local signs allow it.

Punta Prima

Playa de Punta Prima

Playa de Punta Prima, a sandy beach at the northern end of Orihuela Costa

Playa de Punta Prima is the northern gateway to Orihuela Costa, close to the border with Torrevieja. It is a smaller sandy beach with nearby restaurants, services and easy access, including a lift down towards beach level. It works well for a relaxed swim, a short beach visit or a first stop when exploring the coastline from north to south.

  • Family-friendly
  • Good for swimming
  • Services nearby
  • Accessible access
  • Small sandy beach

The beach is generally suitable for swimming when sea conditions are calm. The edges can be a little rockier, which may also make them interesting for a short look with a mask and snorkel.

  • Dog-friendly
  • Small cove
  • Natural feel
  • Rocky sections
  • Check local signs

Always check the latest local signs before visiting with a pet, as municipal beach rules can change. For normal swimming or a full family beach day, the neighbouring sandy beaches are usually more comfortable.
